Question: This is relating to steel tubing. We have several tube laser cutters and if we receive material, (tube), that has a burred end it will not feed into our machine, this would be an abrasive saw, I believe, that makes this cut.
What is the name of the cut that would leave a smooth end, no burr, that could be used when ordering steel from the mill?

Question: I have been told that lap welded pipe made in 1920-1930s era was always made in 20 foot lengths. If that is true, then the flat stock made by the mills was probably made to a certain length specification.
Any idea of what that would have been? Maybe 20 feet + 1 inch, or 20 feet +- 2 inches, etc..

Question: Im trying to pinpoint a problem with cracking on a tempermental deep drawn die.
A rockwell of 35-43 normally does not cause cracking on this part. Recently I received raw material with a .22 cert on Mn and the part is cracking. In the past .09 on Mn worked.
Would a higher amount on Mn cause cracking.
Also is there another element I should be focusing on sulfer etc.

Question: To whom it may concerns:
My name is Jenaro Laris and I am writing you from Mexico City. We are a construction company based in Mexico City and are specialized in general contracting, design-build, construction management, development and consulting services on building projects of all kinds all over the country (Mexico).
Last year, as a complementary new line of business, we built a steel structures factory in Pachuca, Hidalgo (one hour north of Mexico City). This factory provides services related to the design, fabrication, erection and inspection of steel-framed structures. We have developed our first production but we are now bidding for larger contracts. Our capacity is over 13,000 tons per annum.
I would very much appreciate if you can point me to any mill or distributor of steel who has experience with international sales. Up until now, we have bought steel from local suppliers, but I want to know if larger sums are worth quoting (and buying) abroad. Below is my contact info.
